We are excitedly settling into our new space and have officially kicked off our fall classes in a brand-new home! As of September 3rd, students have been filling the studios with creativity, laughter, and the joy of theatre.

This move has been a long time coming and marks a huge leap forward for our organization and the community we serve.

A Space Built for Creativity

Step into VT's new lobby.

Our new location features three flexible studios for classes, rehearsals, workshops, and more. Each one provides the room and resources our students need to explore their craft and develop as artists. One of these studios is especially exciting. It’s being prepared to eventually serve as an intimate performance space, bringing audiences even closer to the magic of live theatre.

Already, the energy is palpable. This past weekend, we welcomed students in our Shrek Kids musical theatre workshop into the space for the first time. Some have been with us for years, and they immediately noticed the difference, saying the studio felt like home. We’re excited to build off this idea and make sure this space feels inviting to all students, so they have the freedom to play and explore the world of theatre with us.

More room means more opportunities. With this expanded location, we now have the flexibility to introduce new classes, events, and workshops throughout the year. We hope to continue collaborating with local arts organizations to turn this new home into a hub for creativity, connection, and local storytelling. There's something special happening here and we can't wait for you to be a part of it.

Upcoming Events

We’re excited to host a local company in our space! Our large back classroom space has been transformed into a a recording studio for Blue Box Theatre Company’s production of Earnest! It’s not too late to catch it!

Blue Box Theatre Presents: EARNEST - September 19th-21st and September 26th-28th

at Vault Theatre Studios in Durham

Blue Box Theatre Company is proud to present their take on the classic Oscar Wilde play, The Importance of Being Earnest in the form of a 90’s sitcom! The show uses the original script with a few setting-specific cuts to put our production in 90’s North Carolina. These well-known characters will be larger than life, much like some of the personalities from iconic sitcoms.

We’re so grateful to our students, families, and supporters who’ve made this move possible. There’s a special kind of momentum happening at VT right now, from our very youngest performer to our teen ensemble members to our seasoned teaching artists, everyone is feeling the energy of this chapter.

We’ll be sharing more behind-the-scenes updates soon: photos from classes, glimpses of rehearsals, and more.

Thank you for being part of this chapter and we can’t wait to discover what’s next!
