MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP: Cabaret Edition! - $150
NEW SPRING SESSION: April 26th -May 10th
Act! Sing! Dance! and take the stage in this special three-week Cabaret Edition of our popular Musical Theatre Workshop! Young artists will rotate through acting, singing, and dancing, building confidence, ensemble skills, and performance technique—all while rehearsing for a final cabaret-style showcase.
This session, we’re diving into the wildly imaginative world of Roald Dahl, bringing musical numbers to life from beloved stories like Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and James and the Giant Peach! Full of heart, humor, and a little mischief, this cabaret will be a whizpopping good time.

MUSICAL THEATRE MASH-UP - $112
SPRING SESSION: Mondays - Mar. 24 - May 20 (No class 3/31) - 5:15-6:15pm
Ages 8-12
Get ready to sing, act, and create in this exciting class where musical theatre meets imagination! Students will learn a classic or contemporary musical theatre song, and then put their own twist on it by creating an entirely new story inspired by the lyrics and themes. Through a mix of acting exercises, song interpretation, and collaborative storytelling, participants will bring their own unique production to life. This class is perfect for young performers ready to explore their creativity and step into the world of musical theatre in a fun, inventive way!

MYTHICAL HEROES OF THE STAGE - $112
SPRING SESSION: Tuesdays - Mar. 25 - May 20th (No class 4/1) - 5:15-6:15pm
Ages 8-12
Delve into the vibrant world of Greek mythology, where legendary heroes and timeless tales come to life! Inspired by modern adaptations like Percy Jackson, this class will explore the rich narratives and character archetypes found in ancient myths. Exploring themes of bravery, adventure, and transformation, young artists will bring to life favorite scenes and stories inspired by these larger than life stories. This class will end in a final sharing on the last day.
DIRECTING - $112
WINTER SESSION: Tuesdays - Mar. 25 - May 20th (No class 4/1) - 6:30-7:30pm
Ages 13-18
Ever wondered if you've got a director's eye? This class will explore what it means to be a director! Learn how to analyze text and bring it to life as a director. All students will work as both actors and directors in this class and end in a final presentation!
WEDNESDAY

DREAM BIG DRAMA - $112
SPRING SESSION: Wednesdays - Mar. 26th - May 21st (No class 4/2) - 4-5pm
Ages 5-7
Young artists will unlock their imaginations and dream big in this interactive theatre class! Students will explore bigger than life stories and create dynamic characters to perform original scenes inspired by our favorite stories! This process fosters the imagination, nurtures self-confidence, and has each young actor working in an ensemble! This class will end in an in-class presentation!

ACTOR'S TOOLBOX - $112
SPRING SESSION: Wednesdays - Mar. 26th - May 21st (No class 4/2) - 5:15-6:15pm
Ages 5-7
What skills does an actor need to shine? This class will explore what it means to be an artist and how to build your toolbox! Learn how to use voice, body, and imagination to bring a character to life! Learn focus and how to work in an ensemble to rehearse scenes for a final sharing of the work! This class will end in a final sharing on the last day.
THURSDAY

BROADWAY DANCE PARTY - $112
SPRING SESSION: Thursdays - Mar. 27th - May 22nd (No class 4/3) - 4:30-5:30pm
Ages 5-7
This lively class is designed for young performers where the excitement of Broadway comes to life through movement, music, and fun! Each session will feature upbeat songs and choreography, allowing young artists to express themselves while learning basic dance techniques. Through playful games and creative movement, students will build their confidence and coordination in a supportive environment.

How do I register?
Click the register button next to the class you're interested in registering for.
Musical Theatre Workshop class will take you to Vault Theatre's booking form. Follow the prompts to register.
For all other classes that are held at Durham Arts Council, the Register button will take you to DAC's registration system through CivicRec. If there is no register button, registration has not opened yet.

If you have never registered for a class with DAC, you will need to create an account.

From there, on the top line toggle to the class sessions you're looking for i.e. Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring. Click on the session you're looking for. It will open up categories.

All of Vault Theatre's classes in the "Youth/Teen" Category so scroll to the bottom where you see this title.

Click on Youth/Teen Performing Arts and it will drop down the list of all the classes in this category. All of Vault Theatre's classes are listed here.
